Online Learning Intro - UP
This course has seven lessons, plus a News section. The news has instructions on how to get started.

You need to have registered and logged in. Students registered by their school will only be able to go to courses they have been enrolled in by the school.
|Lesson 1: What do you know? A quiz to help users identify some of their prior knowledge.will also be able to see the result if they have registered their school/class.|
|Lesson 2: Profile and Privacy Knowing what information is collected and how it is used is always important and this lesson explains Planet ThinkSafe's policies and practices to users. Users are also shown how to change their password and profile. Profiles will be seen by fellow class members if students are registered by their school. Self-registered users will not be able to see the profile of other see other Planet ThinkSafe users.|
|Lesson 3: Calendar in Code Users are taught how to use the calendar in Planet ThinkSafe; it is a Moodle feature and they are able to add events to it. The colours used in the calendar are explained as they show who can see the entries: personal, class or global (all of Planet ThinkSafe), which also helps users know who made the entry.|
|Lesson 4: Working Online This lesson explains how to navigate around Planet ThinkSafe and stresses the importance of security. Then it focuses on working safely, which includes posture and good work habits - including breaks - to work safely. This is different to being safe online.|
|Lesson 5: Communicating Online A look the history of written communication leads into an overview of ways people communicate online. The lesson includes a secure chat activity which introduces spoonerisms. Understanding the importance of 'history' in chats is highlighted so that students realise that they need to be respectful with comments. Students registered by schools will be able to join, along with other members of their class and their teacher. Self-registered users will not be able to join a chat activity as they will not be able to see other Planet ThinkSafe users.|
|Lesson 6: Discussion Forum In this lesson, users join a discussion forum to learn about another form of online communication in a safe, secure environment. Understanding the importance of 'history' in forums is highlighted so that students realise that they need to be respectful with comments. Students registered by schools will be able to join, along with their class and teacher. Self-registered users will not be able to join a chat activity as they will not be able to see other Planet ThinkSafe users.
|Lesson 7: Online Intro Quiz This quiz is the final assessment piece for this course and will give a percentage grade. Users will be able to review their answers and reattempt the quiz to improve their grade.|
